Dr. Shari Giti is the Clinical Director of South Bay Child and Therapy, Inc. She specializes in child, teen, young adult, perinatal and family therapy as well as psychological, educational and AD/HD Assessment. Concurrently, Dr. Giti is a graduate of the prestigious Reiss-Davis Child Study Center PEDS post-doctoral fellowship where she conducted educational, neuropsychological, and psychological testing and assessment and achieved an expertise in educational, psychological, and neuropsychological testing. In addition to her work with patients in the office, Dr. Giti serves as an advocate for her patients in the school setting and often participates in the IEP process and school accommodation representation.
Dr. Giti has experience with a broad spectrum of clients including individuals (children, adolescents, adults) and families. She has worked with a range of clients including children, adolescents, young adults, families, and couples and facilitated groups for parents of children of ADHD and Asperger's. As a former professional opera singer, Dr. Giti has a passion for the treatment of performance anxiety (stage fright, public speaking anxiety, test-taking anxiety, sports performance anxiety, writers block) and works closely with various performers and "performer concerns." In addition to her work with individuals and families, Dr. Giti's doctoral research and thesis explored modalities and efficacious treatment models for optimal performance in the areas of sports and stage performance which she now applies to predominately collegiate and professional athletes and performers.
Dr. Giti is a long-time South Bay resident and a mother to three daughters, Ziggy (the golden-doodle) and Lucy the Labradoodle (the practice's very own therapy dog).
